| SAVING ARTICLES
| ===============
|
| Tknews allows you to save usenet articles to a file. This
| is accomplished through the "Save Article" command, found in the
| Actions menu.
|
| To save an article, highlight in the article summary list,
| and then use the "Save Article" command. A dialog box will appear
| asking you for the name of the file to save the article to. In the
| entry widget where you specify the filename, you will see the default
| value already highlighted. This default value is the name of the
| newsgroup. To use this default, simply hit return or click the ok
| button. To specify an alternate filename, just type it in as you
| would normally. The default text will be deleted at your first
| keystroke.
|
| When entering the filename, the default directory for saving
| files is ~/News. This directory will be used unless you specify
| another directory to place it in. If you do not have a ~/News
| directory and specify no alternate location for saving the file,
| the interface will create the directory for you.
|
| If the file you specify already exists, the article will be
| appended to it. The format used for saving articles is compatible
| with mail format, and thus you can view the files with elm or your
| favourite mail reader.
|
| You can save multiple articles to a single file by highlighting
| them all and then executing the "Save Article" command. All of the
| articles will then be saved to the file you specify.
