S5TASK V1.1 Upgrade Notes
-------------------------

This Archive contains the files to upgrade from V1.0 to V1.1

Upgrading V1.0 to V1.1
----------------------

If you are using it, delete the 'TaskHelp' file from C:\Documents\S5Task\ folder

Simply copy the following new files into the C:\System\Apps\S5Task\ folder, overwriting the old ones:

S5Task.app
S5Task.aif
S5Task.mbm

The optional help file 'TaskHelp.hlp' can also go into the same folder. Note it is now stored in the System folder, with the rest of the program, instead of the Document folder. Also, it now has a '.hlp' extension so that EPOC 32 recignises it as a Help file and provides a 'Go back' button.

Obviously the new Readme and TaskInst files can be loaded if required, and can go anywhere.

The major areas that have changed are as follows:

1.	The Help file now has a 'Go back' button; the same as the main Help.

2.	Document handling is more flexible. If you use the 'New group' or 'Save as' options you will see that you can specify different folders and drives for the document. Remember that if you want to rename an existing document to take advantage of the spaces now available, or move it to a different directory, then do NOT rename/move it from the System screen. Do a 'Save as' command and then when you are happy the new Group is a mirror image of the old one, use the 'Delete group' command to get rid of the original.

3.	In the Archive screen, you have a new option 'Rename archive' under the 'File','More' options on the Menu, so that you can rename Archive files to use spaces and longer names.

4.	I have redesigned the 'View preferences' menu to make it a bit more logical. Also, in the 'Settings' option, there is a new option to define the action of tapping on a selected entry.

5.	You can now Backup to the D: drive if you are running short of room on the C: drive.

6.	I have reworked the Link mechanism follwoing advice from Psion and from Matt Millar. It should now cope with all eventualities, ie, file already open before or during the running of S5TASK, which used to cause an 'In Use' error.

7.	I have had enough people complain about the length of the Description field to make me change it, so in this version it is doubled to 60 characters. Unfortunately, the way I have designed the Extended text mechanism, that is limited to 230 characters max, so I haven't changed that.

And, as promised, the Task entry has been speeded up. You should notice that it only takes 2-3 seconds now to put in a new Task, and that the changes are only saved when you move away from the main screen or change Groups.

Hope you like the changes and look forward to the 'Bug' reports. Please note that any changes you suggest will not be incorporated in this version but will be considered for V1.2. I have learnt from bitter experience that changing the program logic can have disastrous effect, so only bug-fixes will be incorporated in V1.1.

Cheers

Al
