Hi, I have reviewed this document as part of the Operational directorate's ongoing effort to review all IETF documents being processed by the IESG. These comments were written with the intent of improving the operational aspects of the IETF drafts. Comments that are not addressed in last call may be included in AD reviews during the IESG review. Document editors and WG chairs should treat these comments just like any other last call comments. This short draft describes the means by which one or more Seamless Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (S-BFD) discriminators can be encoded and advertised using L2TPv3. The document expects the reader to be familiar with the S-BFD and L2TPv3 protocols, though the section describing the encoding seems clear enough. I believe the document is Ready for publication. Its most recent updates from -03 through to -05 appear to have been small and editorial in nature. That said, I have a couple of minor points possibly worthy of note: a) The document says that multiple S-BFD discriminators can be included, and also states that the handling of multiple discriminators by a receiver is out of scope of the document. It may be worth checking that this is acceptable (I assume the WG has agreed this, given this statement is included?) b) The document says that the use of L2TPv3 is *one* possible means of advertising the discriminators. This raises the question of what other methods exist, and if for some reason multiple methods are used how any conflict in advertisements by these different methods is handled. (Again, this may or may not have been discussed already in the WG.) The document has a normative reference to another draft, draft-ietf-bfd-seamless-base-09, which is also under IESG review. Tim
