The site will be lighted in the evening for night flying. The event is sponsored by the City Department of Parks and Recreation and is free. The site is at Liberty Lake Park in Bedford, on three baseball fields and surounding areas. The event will include single, dual and quad line kites. There is no competition, but a P.A. system will be set up for free style demonstration and ballet. Prizes will be awarded for: the best demonstration performance in single line and qual line, best single line (owner made) and static kite. The prizes are for fun. The event is designed to expose the community to kites and to generally have a really good time flying with people from the area. All are invited to attend, but especially those within a few hours drive from the area. There will be refreshments available and restrooms on site. There is a limit on the number of slots for the demonstration routines, so call and reserve a time. You must bring your music on C.D. or casset. Bedford is located on U.S. 460 between Roanoke and Lynchburg. To get to the park, take the second Bedford exit off of 460 bypass which is 122 south, go south and the park will be on your left after going 1/2 mile.
