In lighter wind I'll switch and just use the front string part as finger straps In really heavy wind I use a dual strap and handle combination..I cannot remember the name..they are nice and padded..however the handles are hard and awkward...... For winding I use halo spoolsone per set of lines, clips on all ends so I can have more line than handles.. Clips are heavy and/or annoying. And they can break (I've broken at least 3 "80 lb" snap-swivels whilst flying my Phantom on 80# spectra!). In virtually any situation, you can larkshead the flying line onto the handle (and the bridle for that matter) without any additional hardware. If there's nothing convenient (such as a Rev handle), just add a 'cheater'-- tie a piece of line onto the handle with a knot at the end. Larkshead your flying line around the the line, and the knot acts as a stopper. I don't think I have clips on a single set of line anymore! Total interchangeability! Jeff -- |Jeffrey C.
