According to this report, "following 6 years of missed schedules and transmitting faults due to ancient equipment and financial constrictions, the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria can no longer sanction Radio Nigeria operations". (G. Williams, UK) We assume this means the external service, the Voice of Nigeria, which was long regularly heard in Europe on 15120 kHz. On the other hand, the Organization of African Unity intends to start a radio station which would be called the Voice of Africa. There's speculation it will be headquartered either in the Nigerian Acapital Lagos or the Egyptian capital Cairo.
