functions compute the absolute value of a floating-point number
x.
Functions of the fabs() family return the
absolute value of x.
The fabs() function conforms to
ANSI X3.159-1989 (“ANSI C89”).

functions conform to ISO/IEC 9899:1999
(“ISO C99”).
