All files ending in .gz in these directories have been
gzipped.  If you do not already have the gzip facilities
available on your system, go to ../../../archive-tools and 
make and install the appropriate files there before attempting to 
read the files here.  Then run the program zcat on any single 
file.

IMPORTANT: The source to The TeXBook is available in $TEXMF/doc/tex
as texbook.tex.  This material is copyrighted (C), 1984, by the 
American Mathematical Society, and is intended to be used only 
to help you test your TeX port, and to provide examples of how 
to use TeX.  In particular, YOU MAY NOT REPRODUCE The TeXbook IN 
ANY WAY.
