Tunisian national railways SNCFT (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Tunisiens) 040 GT diesel number 562. These were built by General Motors Electro-Motive division in the USA
and they run passenger trains on the Tunisian normal gauge network. This one was built in 1999. SNCFT received 21 of these.

It looks like old rubbish but it's not old at all. These diesel multiple units were built by CRRC Nanjing Puzhen in China beginning in 2012 and SNCFT received 15 of them. It's a 160 km/h fast
(in theory) and 22,91 metres long normal gauge DMU which has 117 seats.

This is a Tunisian state railways SNCFT locomotive of the type 060 DP, a six axle machine from the year 1994. It has a power rating of 2400 kW and a top speed of 125 km/h. It's a
dieselelectric machine built by General Electrics in USA.

This is the same train as above with its 060 DP locomotive no.137 but now the train has arrived from Tunis to Sousse.

This is a diesel multiple unit of the type AMD 800 built by the company CFD at their CFD Bagnères subsidiary. CFD is a company that was founded already in 1881 in France and its
original business was to build railway lines and their bridges. Later they started to make locomotives and railway wagons and many other industrial products. These AMG 800 railbuses
are powered by two Deutz diesel engines and they have a power rating of 2 x 440 kW. Their top speed is 100 km/h.

This is an electric multiple unit EMU built by Hyundai Rotem in Korea. The first one of these trains came out of the factory in in Changwon, Korea in 2019. These trains are
intended for short suburban routes called RFR or Réseau Ferroviaire Rapide. These are four wagons long multiple units which run with 25 kV AC. Line A of the RFR system runs on
metre gauge tracks. Here we see a train of the line D and they run on standard 1435 mm gauge.

Also this one is an electric multiple unit of the RFR system and also this one has been built by Hyundai Rotem. This is a four coaches long EMU 67 used on the RFR line E.
These were ordered from Huyndai in 2016 and the first ones were delivered in 2018. 28 trains were ordered for the then new RFR line E.

Algerian train in Tunis
This is an Algerian train in Tunisia waiting for its departure time from Tunis towards Annaba. The two locomotives are of the type 060DJ which is a shunter machine by design.
These locomotives were built in 1977. They have a power rating of only 1400 kW and a top speed of 100 km/h. The machines were built by General Electric in the USA.

This one coach of Algerian national railways SNTF is a generator wagon. A separate generator wagon is needed as the locomotives used were intended as shunters and therefore
are unable to provide the train with electricity.

Trams / light rail
Métro léger de Tunis, a light rail system in Tunis is running with around 130 Düwag high floor trams plus 55 newer Alstom Citadis trams. It is a 750V 1435 mm system with a length of 30 km.
These Düwag trams are from 1985 to 1998 and they are similar with trams of for example the city of Hannover in Germany.
