Canada is a huge country with a well developed railroad infrastructure, but just like in USA in the south, also Canadian railroads mainly focus on cargo traffic. Canada has a railroad network of 49422 kilometres, but only 129 km is electrified. The biggest operators are Canadian National Railway CN, Canadian Pacific Railway CP and Via Rail.

There aren't many commuter passenger trains in Canada. However in the greater Toronto area there are some.
