For your information:

   What we have here is a SITE where programs will be placed that
   DEMOnstrate what the PC can do sound and graphic wise.  Thus the 
   name DEMO is born.  Many of which will utilize the Sound Blaster 
   as well as VGA graphics and quick microprocessors.

   Be sure to SPREAD the word about these DEMO SITES.

What you will NOT find here:
   
GAMES    -- This includes copyrighted, shareware, public domain or anything
	    the can be consider a "game" whether it is a demo of a game
	    or not. (i.e. lemmings demo, phidemo, lsl2 demo, etc.) Game
	    demos are in the mirror of ftp.ulowell.edu located in the  
            /pub/msdos/games directory of ftp.uwp.edu.

SHAREWARE --Any program where you have to pay money to become a registered
            user.  (i.e. rubber room, dazzle, Superscapes virtual reality)

EXCEPTION --The source directory  will probably contain some shareware
            software.  This directory is for utilities and source code.

you will find a better place for demos than here (ftp.uwp.edu).

Demos cam be UPLOADED to the pub/incoming/demos DIRECTORY on ftp.uwp.edu
and pub/msdos/demos/INCOMING directory on wasp.eng.ufl.edu.

All demos on this site WORK.  Any incoming demo is downloaded, scanned
with an anti-virus program, and re-uploaded in the .LZH compression format.

The .LZH compression format can be uncompressed with LHA213.EXE.  This can
be found in the pub/msdos/arcers directory on ftp.uwp.edu.

 REQUIRED.TXT if you are unsure if the demo will work on your computer. 
 WANT.LIST if you are wondering what demos are out there but not here.
 DEMO.NEWS_? to be informed about demos added to the site and other stuff.
 TOP25DL lists the top 25 downloaded files for the week.  Only on wasp site.
 demos_list contains sites for demos on other machines.

ALL TEXT files can now be found in the "text" directory and old text files
shall be found in the "old_text" directory within the text directory.
