       USAGE

       vvvviiiieeeewwww [----iiii] [_l_i_n_e-_w_i_d_t_h]

       DESCRIPTION

It is sometimes useful to view the digitizer data directly.
The vvvviiiieeeewwww command presents a graphical display which is
similar to that which might be seen on a video monitor were
it attached to the digitizer's video camera.

       The following option is available:

----iiii Transform the raw data to image data, correcting
to true coordinates. Available only on the
Iris. Does not support any color features.

Many of the attributes of the vvvviiiieeeewwww display are dependent on
the type of digitizer, the host computer, and the parameters
       in your configuration files.

The display presents radius along the horizontal axis and
the digitizer's Y axis along the vertical. The data values
from the digitizer are represented by the line.

The sssseeeennnnssssiiiittttiiiivvvviiiittttyyyy control affects the display.

The usual interrupt key is used to terminate the vvvviiiieeeewwww
display. This is the SSSSttttoooopppp key on the HP and the CCCCoooonnnnttttrrrroooollll____CCCC
key on other Unix hosts. Note that most hosts require that
the text window be selected by the mouse and not the vvvviiiieeeewwww
window for the interrupt to work.

The _I_r_i_s VVVViiiieeeewwww window is exited by selecting the EEEExxxxiiiitttt VVVViiiieeeewwww
item from its menu. Do not use the QQQQuuuuiiiitttt selection from the
       WWWWiiiinnnnddddoooowwww menu.

If you have a color digitizer then two additional menu
selections are provided. The RRRRGGGGBBBB PPPPrrrrooooffffiiiilllleeee option causes the
line to be drawn in the appropriate color. Because neither
the color or range data has been corrected for the
digitizer's geometric or optical properties the registration
of color to shape may displayed improperly. The argument
_l_i_n_e-_w_i_d_t_h may be used to make the line wider so that the
color may be seen better. The results can be quite odd with
       wide lines.

                                  - 2 -

The menu option CCCCoooolllloooorrrr is for diagnostic purposes. The color
data alone will be displayed across part of the window in a
shifting manner. This may be used to adjust the aperture,
R-G balance, room lighting or other color variable.
