Mr. Turner did not give a reason for the closing. Wellington Radio has long bent over backwards to answer QSL requests from UTE's, and its sad to see them go. Some may remember last year when the station actually wrote into Popular Communications giving their *correct* address, as some utility QSL'ers had been sending their requests to a wrong address! Not too many folks like that left in the world I'm afraid. If you would like to add Wellington Radio, ZLW, to your logs or utility QSL collection you had best hurry, another HF station is about to be lost to history. Here in eastern Ohio, they have been heard fairly regularly on 6501.0 Khz, USB after 0100 UTC (some nights a few weeks ago better than USCG Portsmouth!). Also on 8737.0 Khz, USB after 0700 UTC. USB frequencies are: 2153, 2601, 4378, 4384, 4429, 6501, 6513, 8737, 8752, 13101, 13146, 17257, 17350, 22732, and 22801 Khz CW frequencies are: 4277.0, 6393.0, 6449.5, 8504.0, 12740.0, 17170.0, and 22533.0 SITOR frequencies: 4211.0, 4212.0, 6315.0, 8417.0, 8418.0, 12580.0, 12581.0, 16807.5, 16808.5, 22377.0, and 22378.0 The address is: Wellington Radio P.O.
