Over the past two months, there have been some major changes in the maritime broadcasts on HF (and other "utility stations) ... eliminating CW broadcasts, SITOR encryption schemes, etc. I would expect the schedules of the below WeFax broadcasts to also undergo some changes in the immediate future. Most all WEFAX SIGHTINGS listed have been heard/verified within the past 30 days; an old 1942 Hallicrafters SX-28 SW receiver is used with a folded dipole; an MFJ-1278 multimode controller is used for the WEFAX decoding to a laptop PC. Due to an aging, yellowing analog readout on the SX-28, some frequencies may be in error by 2-3 kHz. QTH is Socorro, New Mexico. 73 and gud dx, Paul Harden, NA5N pharden@zia.nrao.edu 24-HOUR CONTINUOUS TRANSMISSIONS ... ---------------------------------------------------------------- WEFAX STATION: N M N / N A M [USCG/USN PORTSMOUTH, VA] FREQ: 4975 8078 10863 16410 kHz (3357 kHz some days) TIME: Operates 24-hours a day, continuously MAPS: Eastern U.S., N Atlantic, Carribean, Gulf of Mexico ---------------------------------------------------------------- WEFAX STATION: N P M [USN Pearl Harbor, Hawaii] FREQ: 4025 6440 9090 kHz TIME: Operates 24-hours a day, continuously MAPS: Western U.S., N Pacific from China coast to Mexico Includes rebroadcasts of GEOS multi-level WXSAT images ---------------------------------------------------------------- WEFAX STATION: C F H [Canada Navy, Halifax, NS] FREQ: 4271 6496 10536 13510 kHz TIME: Operates 24-hours a day, continuously, but alternates between 75 baud RTTY and WEFAX transmissions.
