At 1241Z, GOLDFISH (GOLD FINCH or GOLD FIN??) 715 advised they were on-station, with 14 (!!, possibly said 4...) POB & a scheduled off-station time of 1700Z. They advised they would give flight ops reports on the hour, & requested "Alligator params" -- Coord was "Corona" & Data (Link-11 channel) was "Bud Dry." Station FOTC (Fleet Over The Horizon Targeting Coordinator) was NCS, and polling all the military vessels for their position, course & heading at least every half hour. VICTOR relayed to TANGO from BRAVO SIERRA: Move to & patrol area D-1. 190157Z SEP 94 7469LSB BLACK BODY calling BIRD SEED for radio-check. QSY'ed to "Charlie Tango 7" but came back to 7469LSB a few minutes later. This was a semi-duplex circuit. Also tried to QSY to CT3 at 0310Z, then CR7. Stations were going to run data. Not SCACS guys... 190300Z SEP 94 6683USB SAM 86972 working Andrews. Aircraft was returning Pres. Carter, Colin Powell & Senator Nunn back to the U.S. (via NAS Roosevelt Roads) after negotiating in Haiti. ETA Andrews 0615Z. At 0455Z, State Ops made a patch to 972, wanting to speak with President Carter. State was told he was sleeping, but U.S. Ambassador in Haiti needed to speak with him, so he was woken up & Carter & Ambassador Bill Swing in Port-au-Prince conversed for almost 10 minutes on 6683, reference Haitian officials apparently not 'understanding' some of the agreements made a few hours earlier... 6693USB was secondary channel. 190304Z SEP 94 6693USB SAM 86970 working Andrews, & SAM 86972. 970 was back-up aircraft for 972 during Haiti trip. Aircraft had been involved in Haiti operation. 200257Z SEP 94 9014USB ASTRA 12 contacted RAYMOND 7 (Cannon AFB CP) & advised that they were a KC-135 orbiting AR-602 & arguing with a PRIMO (tanker) aircraft on UHF over who was to refuel what planes out of Cannon! RAY 7 advised that ASTRA was to AR RED TOP 11, 12, 13 & 22. ASTRA 12 then advised what they were a flight of 3 KC-135s (ASTRAs 12. 11, & 13) & wanted to know if there were any additional aircraft they could refuel! RAY 7 advised no. At 0315Z RAYMOND 7 called RED TOP 01. RED TOP 1 had a hung training bomb, & was returning to base. 201236Z SEP 94 11176USB REACH 01423 with a phone patch to HILDA METRO via Hickam GHFS. 01423 requested weather for MTPP (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) at 1420Z. Next patch was to HILDA America Cell, & 01423 passed their load message: 6 pallets, 12 rolling stock, & 12 pax. 201309Z SEP 94 11176USB ICEMAN 03 (10th Mountain Division unit, just arrived in Haiti) with a phone patch to DSN -------- via MacDill Global. 03 asked Sgt on the line if "the boss man" was there. The Sgt advised that the Colonel had already left. ICEMAN 03 advised to pass on that "All personnel and equipment are on ground & everyone is fine." The Sgt. asked the status of the COMMENTARY personnel, & 03 responded that part of the COMMENTARY 01 element was on the ground. ICEMAN OPS & ICEMAN 03 planned on contacting eachother direct on HF, starting with TAD 01 (-------)channel at 0930L (EST), & if no comms would try next TAD channel # every 15 minutes until comms were established. 202228Z SEP 94 11176USB PAT 546 with a patch to DSN -------- (Ft. Bragg) via MacDill. 546 advised "Base Ops" that they had a 0200Z ETA at Pope, & wanted Base Ops to call over there & arrange for Customs & Immigration to meet the aircraft. 202250Z SEP 94 11176USB SHARK 75 (310th AS aircraft, Howard AFB) requesting a patch to the US Embassy in Surinam, commercial # ------------ via Albrook. Albrook advised the call would probably take a while to be made. Patch initiated at 2311Z, SHARK 75 advised the Embassy that they were unable to get their supplies, but their DV aboard the aircraft requested that the Embassy obtain 4 bottles of rum for the DV! (What a %$#*&). After stating that, SHARK 75 terminated the patch without allowing the Embassy to respond. The guy aboard the aircraft making that call was obviously uncomfortable in asking them to get the alcohol. At 2331Z, SHARK 75 requested an immediate patch to LOBO. 75 advised that they were declaring an IFE for #1 engine shut down, had 3 pax & 7 crew, 5 hours of fuel aboard and a 0230Z ETA at Howard AFB. 210500Z SEP 94 4040.1USB CORONADO, ESSEX, et al. US Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Special Operations Capable Exercise (SOCEX) wargames. Mentioned machine gun teams, air strikes, & that the first SEAL boat launch would occur at 2200 local. ESSEX (USS Essex) seemed to be NCS. Also spoke with "TECG" (?) unit. 212145Z SEP 94 15015USB RAPID 62 with a patch to DSN -------- (alt. ----, NAS Roosevelt Roads, PR) via Albrook GHFS. 62 advised "REDEYE" that they were trying to contact them with no luck on channel A7, & would also try A8 & A6. 212312Z SEP 94 11178USB FALCON 1 advising PJK that they were off-station at 2330Z, with an ETA at TNCC of 0015Z. Essex later relayed the following message to Coronado: 2319 (local) - Assault forces left LCC & headed for crisis center. 2324 -- Security forces surrounded building. 2348 -- Assault forces left building with hostages. 2354 -- Alpha forces at LCU. No snipers with assault force. 0011 -- LCU departs IHR for USS Essex. Aircraft departed Offutt AFB at 0238Z, ETB Andrews 0500. 27000 was flying AF1 back-up aircraft mission. 27000 called Andrews several times with no answer, so the little crybaby CSO then said "This is 27000 in the blind, if you can hear me, I'm logging off, because you can't give me any service!" Waa! He must have changed his diapers, because he was back to working Andrews Mystic Star about 20 min. Later. AF1 was enroute back to Andrews, after a campaign trip to Nebraska. 241735Z SEP 94 11176USB REACH 74111 (tail # 40631)with a phone patch to CROSSBOW (---------) at DSN ----------- (WHCA Switchboard, OEOB) via MacDill Global. WHCA Trip Officer "McCrofton" advised they had departed Minneapolis-St. Paul at 1540Z & were returning from the Minneapolis trip site with personnel & equipment, ETA Andrews 1950Z & wondered if CROSSBOW had any traffic for them. None. At 1800Z, the aircraft requested a patch to CROWN again & then asked CROWN to transfer them to ROYAL CROWN. McCrofton advised R.C. is was an HF test call, & asked R.C. to call his home & let his wife know he'd be at Anacostia at 2030Z. "Test call" my ass! 241757Z SEP 94 11176USB SDM9037 with a patch to "Pentagon Ops Center) DSN -------- (AFOC) via MacDill. 9037 advised they departed EINN (Shannon, Ireland) at 1319Z, & had at 1925Z ETA at JFK Airport, New York. Aircraft was transporting Russian President Yeltsin from England to NY for a UN meeting. 241905Z SEP 94 11176USB PLATE 03 (130th AG C-130, WV ANG) requesting a patch to DSN -------- via MacDill. 03 advised PLATE OPS that they were 30 minutes out, & requested weather info. OPS advised 03 that the weather didn't appear to be as bad as indicated by ATIS. 241910Z SEP 94 11176USB RAIDER 16 (USMC VMGR-352 KC-130) with a phone patch to RAIDER BASE at DSN -------- via MacDill. 16 advised that they had an 1845Z departure & needed a 2230Z PPR for MCAS Yuma. RAIDER OPS didn't have their PPR, so patch was terminated & a second patch was made to MCAS Yuma for the PPR. RAIDER 16 advised they had 18 souls on board. 242150Z SEP 94 8972USB SCREWTOP 1 (VAW-123 E-2C) trying to pass traffic regarding a surface contact to BLUE STAR. SCREWTOP 1 needed info passed to JTF-4, & wanted them to send out assets to investigate the contacts. BLUE STAR advised that OMAHA 53 & OMAHA 76 would be enroute, & monitoring channel Blue 4. Patch was for a Carolyn -------, who wasn't home. Person advised her father that they would need to include USAF/ALO in his mailing address, & that they should send him laundry detergent & bleach. No answer. 261340Z SEP 94 11176USB ADVANCE 20 with a patch to DSN -------- (------------------------------------------------------) via MacDill. 20 wanted to know if any other ADVANCE units were coming (to Haiti),. ADVANCE OPS advised two ETACS personnel would be enroute shortly. Next patch was to DSN --------, for a link to commercial # --------. QSY'd to 11229USB at 1349Z, at 1351Z MacDill advised no answer at the ---- #, & ADVANCE 20 advised they had no further traffic. 261357Z SEP 94 12315USB NORFOLK SESEF & USS Gallery (FFG-26) bitching about WWCR on 7535kHz, & checking out various radios aboard the Gallery. At 1402Z, Boxer (soon to be LHD-4) came on freq to work SESEF. Boxer advised they had 26 (!) transmitters to check, but only two were capable of LSB, the rest are USB/AM/DSB/CW/FSK only. Radios were possibly URC-101s. 1406Z -- tested AM. 1409Z -- CW check. 261426Z SEP 94 11176USB F1E with a patch to commercial # 804/-------- via MacDill GHFS. F1E advised the Port Services Officer they were enroute, & requested a berthing dock #. The Port Services Officer asked F1E what ship they were, & F1E advised AOE-6, USS "Ply." F1E was advised to use Pier 5, North Side.
