Q1: What programs exist for drawing diagrams?

There are several programs available to draw Origami diagrams on the computer. Except ORIDRAW, OriToPs and PictureThis they are NOT available via these archives. Among these programs are (systems in alphabetical sequence):

Q2: What programs exist to show Origami folding?

There is a set of Basic programs available on the archives. They are written by George Furiya.

Q3: How do I print PostScript files?

If you have a PostScript printer (or a printer emulating PostScript) just copy the file to PRN (or LPT1).
If your printer doesn't understand PostScript you may use GhostScript to convert the PostScript file to your printer. GhostScript is available via the archives. After you have gotten the files and have expanded them you will find the information telling how to set GS up in the file use.doc.

Q4: What is PostScript and EPS?

PostScript is a printer language. Print files generated in this way are in ASCII code and so can be sent by Email without problems.
PostScript files come in two kinds. Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) files are completely self contained. But you may also find PostScript files that are missing a head and tail. On the Apple MacIntosh and some other computers these are added automatically when printing.
You may send both kinds of PostScript files to M.J.van.Gelder@kvi.nl I (Maarten) will put them in the archives.

I1: Information on program topdraw

Available at ftp.cica.indiana.edu in /pub/pc/win3/desktop.
Files topdr10a.zip and topdr10b.zip.
This is a pretty nifty program, and there are a couple of features that make it ideal for origami: Unfortunately, its shareware & runs out after 60 days.
I think this prog actually disables itself after this time (!) and its about $40 to register. Worth trying anyway.

I2: Information on program xpaint

XPaint is a color image editing tool under UNIX systems with X-windows which features most standard paint program options. It allows for the editing of multiple images simultaneously and supports various formats, including PPM, XBM, TIFF, etc.
The functionality of XPaint is divided into a toolbox area for selecting the current paint operation and paint windows for modifying/creating images. Each paint window has access to its own color palette and set of patterns, although the paint operation in use is globally selected for all windows.
XPaint runs on a variety of displays. Saving images will adapt them to the current display type (i.e. a color image loaded on a greyscale screen will be saved as a grey image).
